Greetings from Your Chamber!

We hope you had a nice July 4th!

We are excited to announce that John Broyles has been hired as the new Chamber
Director.  Many of you know John and have worked with him in some capacity or other.
We anticipate him starting Monday and look forward to what he will contribute.

You have been getting a lot of information from us lately regarding the flood.  FEMA left
fliers at the Chamber for businesses to post in their windows. We emailed and faxed
those to you. If you did not get a copy and would like to have one, contact us and we will
get it to you. They are printed in English and Spanish.  FEMA is located in Suite 500 at
the Gainesville Factory Shops.  You may go to the Chamber website

Because of flood damage, Michael P. Kendall, CPA has moved temporarily to 365 CR
352, Gainesville. His email and phone numbers are the same.   Schalk & Smith, CPA has
moved to the second floor of Prosperity Bank.

Workforce Texoma will host Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison Friday, July 6th, from 2-3pm,
at their Denison Workforce Center for a legislative update. They are located at 2415 S.
Austin, Denison. Everyone is welcome to attend. You may call Janie Bates at 903-957-

We had a great time at Red River Peach Orchard's ribbon cutting last week. We were
treated to fresh peach lemonade, scones, and each Ambassador was given a gift basket
of just picked peaches. People come from all over to pick peaches. If you get the chance
to visit them you will be in for a treat. They are located at 300 CR 134.

Don't forget......Whitesboro Area Chamber of Commerce extends an invitation to our
members to attend the "GREAT RACE" Pit Stop and Cruise Night, Friday, July 6, 2007,
from 3:30 to 10:00 p.m..  This event is free to the public. First of the Great Race Cars
arrive at Trollinger Park for a Pit Stop. From 4-6pm there will be games and activities for
the whole family.  Whitesboro Cruise Night Kicks Off ant 7:00 p.m. You may show your
Classic Ride or Bike at the Free Car and Bike display. You may pick up an entry form at
the Gainesville Chamber or we will be happy to fax one to you.  Please phone the

Also, remember that NCTC is offering CPR/AED certified training on the following dates,
July 12 and July 26, 2007. There will be two classes each day, one class from 7 am until
noon and one class from 1pm until 5pm. The cost is $35.00 per person. If interested

Chamber Ambassadors don't forget that Bella Vista Apartments is having their Grand
Opening and Ribbon Cutting, Tuesday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m.  They are located at 1000
Bella Vista Dr., just off N. Grand behind Wal-Mart. Manager Brandii Vance extends a
special invitation to the Mayor, City Council, County Officials and City Manager to this
grand opening.

And Landmark Bank in Lindsay ribbon cutting for Friday, July 13, at 2:00 p.m. They are
located at 1001 Pecan St., in Lindsay. Everyone is welcome to this as well.

Back to school is just around the corner. The Chamber will be hosting a "Meet the New
Teachers" breakfast at the High School, Friday, August 17. This will not be the annual
"Back to School" breakfast that we host each year. That will also take place in August.
